Short, scenic and really fun. One of the most beautiful short hikes in the area. This trail leads from the campground at Red Cliffs Recreation Area into a narrow red-rock canyon beside a small stream. As you hike, the canyon narrows until it is just a few feet wide and a beautiful little waterfall blocks the trail. It’s possible to climb around it, but not really needed as the canyon is very beautiful to that point.
Spring and fall are ideal times to hike here, as afternoon temperatures are hot in summer, and the stream may completely dry up. Snow Canyon is a 7,400-acre scenic park quietly tucked amid lava flows and soaring sandstone cliffs in a strikingly colorful and fragile desert environment. Majestic views and the subtle interplay of light, shadow, and color dancing across canyon walls evoke strong emotional responses from visitors. There are other easy, close walks within the park, try Petrified Sand Dunes or White Rocks for additional simple hikes.
