St. George Golf Club was the second golf facility developed by the City of St. George in the 1970’s. Local designers had their pick of locations around the city, this time creating a fun 18 hole golf course along the riverbeds of the Ft. Pierce Wash. The golf course offers a classic, relaxed feel to the design with simple features and not overly demanding. The mostly flat terrain lends well to walking, and is one of the most affordable courses in town.
“A popular course to walk in the city, especially in the winter months when the golf course looks awesome with its two-toned, lush rye grass fairways and golden dormant bermuda roughs.”
This course gets busy in the winter months as golfers enjoy the two-toned look of dormant bermuda roughs, and overseeded, lush green rye grass fairways.
Although the golf course is very wide, and quite forgiving, the routing features a few holes around two lakes which demand well-struck shots to avoid the water.
